History

A Romanian dance. The name means Bride's Dance

Rhythm

The dance is in a slow, even 4/4 rhythm.

Steps

Start in a circle in a W hold, facing right.

First part

Take two steps forward, starting with the right, then three steps in quick-quick-slow rhythm, starting with the right.
Repeat this with opposite feet

Take one step forward with the right, then do another quick-quick-slow starting with the left.
Touch the right beside the left while turning the head to look to the left, then pause.

Step back on the right, then turn to face centre and step to the side with the left.
Cross in front with the right, then touch the left beside the right.
Step to the side with the left, then touch the right beside the left.
Step back with the right, then touch the left beside the right.

There is a short pause at the end of the sequence.

Second part

Turn to face left. Take three steps forward, starting with the left, then close with the right and swivel to face right but end up with the weight on the left foot.
Repeat this to the right, starting with the right.
Repeat this to the left, starting with the left, but on the last step just close the right beside the left and turn the head to face right, and pause.

Cross the right behind the left, then step to the side with the left.
Do this three times.

Cross the right in front of the left, then touch the left beside the right while turning the head to face right, and pause.

Third part

The third part is a mirror image of the first part, starting with the left foot and moving to the left.

There no introduction, the dance starts with the music.
