A French dance that I originally learnt from June Watts.
The music is in an even rhythm and all the steps are the same length.
First Part
Step to the side with the left foot, then close with the right. Repeat.
Step to the side with the right foot, then close with the left.
Do the first part twice.
Second Part
Step to the side with the left foot, then close with the right. Repeat.
Step to the side with the right foot, then close with the left. Repeat
Do the second part twice.
On each side step swing the arms slightly backwards, while keeping them straight. On each close step swing them slightly forward, still keeping them straight. You can leave the arm movements out when first teaching the dance, or with beginners.
The dance steps fit the musical phrase, there is a different melody for each part (otherwise they don't fit!).
